This study delves into the narrative surrounding the city of Yazd during the Safavid era through the lens of Mohsen Tasir Tabrizi's Masnavi titled Husn-e Ittefaq (Good Luck.) Central to this investigation is the exploration of "architecture of paradise," a concept intricately intertwined with the city's development and depicted through elements like gardens and water, drawing upon Yazd's rich local histories.
The primary inquiries revolve around the emphasis placed by local historians of Yazd on the architectural evolution of the city, particularly in comparison to other regional histories in Iran. Findings reveal that despite Yazd's limited natural water sources, the city emerged as a pivotal, flourishing urban center, a narrative deeply ingrained in the collective memory and urban identity of its inhabitants. The article further probes into how this urban identity manifests in Safavid era literature and poetry, particularly evident in Tasir's Poem, and analyzes its resonance with the experiences and shared memories of people of Yazd.
Using a historical analysis methodology focused on the primary texts, the research emphasizes the inseparable link between the city of Yazd and its poetry, illustrating how residents' experiences were not only shaped by their city but also reflected in the verses they composed. Additionally, it highlights the portrayal of Yazd as a Paradise-like haven in poetry.
