Nowadays meaning-making during visits has turned into an important aspect in museum studies. The experts of the field have increasingly paid attention to understanding meaning-making facts through visit, because museums’ focus on knowing meaning-making fundamentals and creating the meaning by the visitor will lead to quality improvement. Although meaning-making is a personal issue, understanding effective elements in this field will help museums correct orientation in this process. The purpose of this article is to identify meaning-making elements in the context of museum visitor experience. Based on the nature of the data, the study was done through qualitative and explanatory method. Documentary research and library research were used for gathering the required data. The findings of the research indicate five types of effective elements of meaning-making by the visitor. These elements include concept of the object, museum ability in interpretation and meaning transference, personal and individual facts, environmental and physical facts, and cultural and social facts. Due to the correspondence of the three types of facts with the facts forming the visitor’s experience, it can be concluded that meaning-making is achieved through experience. The process of meaning-making through visitor’s experience and its categories are discussed in detail in the article.
